Alice Mae Green

Alice Mae Green, 86, of 802 Locust Street passed away the evening of June 28, 2013 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born in Bradshaw, WV on September 1, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Charles Green.

Mrs. Green had worked as a dietary aide for Northside Hospital, Youngstown and also as a private caregiver. She was a member of, “Mother of the Church” and president of the mothers board at Bible Way Church of God in Christ. Alice made time for mission work, loved taking care of people and was well known as “Mother Green”. She also loved to bake.

Alice is surivived by two daughters, Josephine Hambrick of New Castle and Jeanine Watkins of Austintown, OH; six grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Watson.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Bible Way Church of God in Christ, 125 Crawford Avenue. A home going service will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the church by Reverend John Young III, pastor. Interment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens. Arrangements handled by Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street.

Tiffany Atwood

Tiffany Dosharae Atwood, 30, of Spearman Ave, Farrell, PA, passed away the afternoon of July 1, 2013 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born in Sharon to H.L. and Barbara Bell Atwood on May 20, 1983. Her parents survive in Farrell.

She was a member of St. John United Holy Church in New Castle and graduated from Farrell High School. Tiffany was also a graduate of the Business Institute of Sharon where she earned her Assistant Business degree in Office Technology. She worked as a teacher’s assistant for the John Hetra School of the Farrell Area School District. Tiffany loved interacting with children and her job. She also loved working on computers, baking, and playing bingo. She will be sadly missed by her parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, cousins, church family, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Tiffany is survived by her daughter, Kahmia Atwood, at home; brothers, Derrick A. Atwood of Farrell, PA and Harry L. Atwood, Jr. of Bethlehem, PA; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; sister, Nicole D. Atwood; and infant sister, Clorice D. Atwood.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 10am to 11am at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home 941 S. Mill St New Castle PA 16101. A Homegoing service will be held on Friday at 11am at the funeral home, conducted by Pastor Clarence Tucker of St. John United Holy Church.

Interment will take place at Morefield Cemetery in Hermitage, PA.

Madeline Gensante

Madeline D. Gensante, 94, of Jameson Place, passed away the evening of July 6, 2013 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 14, 1919 in New Castle to the late Cesidio and Domenica Taddei Smarrelli. She married Leo Gensante, Sr., and they were together more than 50 years when he passed.

Madeline worked for many years as a well known and sought after sales associate in women’s clothing for Strauss Department Store. She was also a member of St. Vitus Church.

She is survived by her children, Leo Gensante, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Freedom, PA and Nancy Buckwalter and husband John of Export, PA; grandchildren, Joseph Gensante, Suzanne Kasunich, Emily Bundy, and John Buckwalter, Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Augustine Smarrelli, Fred Smarrelli, and Carmen Smarrelli, and two sisters, Mary Rotz and Edith Yager.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4PM to 7PM at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at St. Vitus Church with a procession leaving the funeral home at 10:30AM. Father Frank Almade, pastor of St. Vitus Church, will officiate.

Entombment will take place at Castleview Memorial Gardens.

The family requests that donations be made to the charity of the donor’s choosing in her memory.

Frank Stone

Frank (BoBo) Stone, 79, of N. Cascade St. passed away at his residence in New Castle.

Born on October 29, 1933 in New Castle, Frank was the son of the late Carmen and Dorothy Mitlo Stone. Preceding him in death on October 17, 2007 is his wife the former Alice Sipe, whom he married on January 17, 1959.

He was a member of the New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army Special Forces and served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Shenango China where he was a kiln operator. Frank was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Duca Degli Abruzzi Club. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his friends and family.

Survivors include his three sisters, Rose Temperato, Ann Miller, Lucille Cepro, all of New Castle; his niece, Regina Fagnilli, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Frank is preceded in death by his sister, Laura Mooney.

Visitation is Sunday from 4PM to 5PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill ST. followed by a funeral service at 5PM conducted by Rev. Carl Sacherich of New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military honors at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in the veterans section at Parkside Cemetery and Mausoleum.

Ralph Rouzzo

Ralph E. Rouzzo, 64, of New Castle, passed away the morning of July 13, 2013 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 15, 1948 to Donna Crum Rouzzo Johngrass of New Castle and the late Ernest Rouzzo.

Ralph was the former owner of a tavern in Mahoningtown and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul parish. He enjoyed football, playing racquetball, and walking, but he truly loved spending time with his family.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Rudich and husband Chris of Baden, PA and Jeanne Ipolito and husband Adam of Pittsburgh, PA, and his grandchildren, Ava and Alana.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday from 10AM to 11AM at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A blessing service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at the funeral home.

Burial will take place at St. Lucy Cemetery.

Charles Stone

Charles (Chum) Stone, 85, of Miller Ave. passed away the afternoon of July 14, 2013 at Edison Manor Rehabilitation Center.

Born in New Castle on April 7, 1928, Charles was the son of the late Charles and Jennette Venditto Stone. Preceding him in death on March 11, 2012 is his wife, the former Virginia Cumberledge whom he married on March 28, 1981.

He was a member of St. Vitus Church. Charles retired from Mesta Machine Corporation where he worked as a machine operator. Upon retirement, he worked at the Neshannock School District as a custodian. Charles was a member of the Duca Degli Abruzzi Club and enjoyed doing yard work and gardening. Above all else Charles cherished the times he spent with his family.

Survivors include his son, Gary Stone and his wife Carol; his daughters, Kathy Montgomery, Carol Morrison, all of New Castle; his sister, Helen Stone of New Castle; seven grandchildren, Gary and Annlyn Stone, Erin Stone, April and Bob Prestopine, Arthur and Patty Morrison, Louie Voto, Tara Voto, Juliann Holmes, fourteen great-grandchildren and his goddaughter, Maria Stone.

In addition to his parents and wife, Charles is preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Stone, Orlando Stone and Michael Stone, six sisters, Esther Rico, Dolly Pallerino, Phyllis Haybarger, Angeline Ryan, Minnie Smith, Laura DeMarco and his former wife, Louise Mancino Stone.

Visitation is Wednesday from 4PM to 7PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. followed by a Blessing Service at 7PM.

Internment will take place at Oak Park Cemetery.

Roger DeLillo

Former New Castle resident, Roger H. DeLillo, Sr., 77, of Anderson, Indiana passed away July 12, 2013 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital in Indiana following a sudden illness.

He was born in New Castle on July 9, 1936 to the late Louis, Sr. and Alice Conti DeLillo. Roger was a graduate of New Castle High School. In 1958 he was drafted into the U.S. Army and played in the 282 Army Post Band at Ft. Jackson, S.C. Roger always loved music and was a professional trombonist and performed with many bands and orchestras across North and South America. In 1958 he played with Woody Herman’s Band while making a “goodwill tour” of South America for the State Department. In 1960, he played with Duke Ellington and Jerry Winters in the Waukegan Jazz Festival. Roger also performed on many famous TV shows, including the Mike Douglas Show and the Jackie Gleason Show. In 1962 he worked in theatre productions with Tom Poston and Barbra Streisand. Roger was a long time member of the Red Coat Band in New Castle and the APF of W musicians union. Roger was also known for giving private trombone lessons.

He is survived by his son, Roger DeLillo, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Anderson, IN and four grandchildren, Sgt. Joshua Czerepka, of the USMC, Allis Czerepka, Emma DeLillo and Roger Antonio DeLillo.

In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his two brothers, Louis DeLillo, Jr. and W. Edward DeLillo and his sister, Norma DeLillo.

Visitation is Tuesday from 5PM to 8PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 9:30AM for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM. Rev. Father William Siple of St. Vitus Church will officiate.

Burial will take place at Castle View Memorial Gardens. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military honors at the cemetery.

Candace Christoff

Candace Christoff, 26, of 3114 Merritt Road, New Castle, PA, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2013. Candace was born on January 28, 1987 in Tampa, FL. She was the loving daughter of Robert and Karen Dellarosa Christoff.

Candace was a special needs child, and although she lived a short life, she brought joy to everyone that she touched. She was a testament to all of God’s graces and love. Candace was Catholic and a member of St. Camillus Church.

She is survived by her parents; sister, Jessica; grandparents, Richard and Josephine Dellarosa; and a number of other family members. Candace also had a number of caregivers who were very close to her and her family who offered her love and support. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert and Catherine Christoff.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5PM to 8PM at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd, New Castle PA, 16105. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11AM at St. Michaels Catholic Church 101 McLay Dr, Elizabeth PA 15037, officiated by Father Thomas Wagner.

Interment will take place at Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth Township, PA.

Josephine Myers

Josephine Myers, 82, of Riffle Rd passed away the evening of July 18, 2013 at her residence at Rogers, OH. She was born on July 7, 1931 in Canfield, OH to the late Huey and Bertie Hays Collette. In March 1966, she married the late Robert Myers.

Josephine loved farming on her property and spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by her son, Alan Myers of Stuart, FL; brother, Edward Collette of Conneaut, PA; three sisters, Margaret Doster of New Castle, Ruby Payne of Seigel, PA, and Irene Stouffer of Youngstown, OH; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Lyle Williams; brothers, Albert Collette, Melvin Collette, and Harry Collette; and sisters, Clara Partlow and Mary Payne.

Services will be held today at 1PM at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St, officiated by Reverend Ronald Mounts.

Interment will take place at Parkside Cemetery.

Kenneth Miller, 65, of 125 W. North Street passed away the morning of July 23, 2013 in Jameson Hospital.

He was born August 2, 1947 in New Castle and was the son of the late Grant and Thressa Weidenhof Miller.

Mr. Miller worked as an Auto Body repairman. Kenneth enjoyed fishing and was a former member of the Tow Jagielly Society. He loved his family and God. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and brother who loved spending time with his family and will be sadly missed by those who knew him. Kenneth was Protestant.

He is survived by three children, Lisa Italia and husband John of New Castle, Kenneth A. Miller of Costa Mesa, CA and Gregory Miller and wife Kim-Ahn of Ridgecrest, CA; two brothers, Gary Miller of Bradenton, FL and DeWayne Miller of Port Richey, FL; three sisters, Karen Shaftic and husband Jerry of Doylestown, OH, Judy Drybola and husband Tom of Temple, TX and Joyce Powell of West Middlesex, PA and six grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Grant Miller and Charles Miller; one sister, Lorraine Miller and a brother-in-law, Michael Powell.

Jerry A. Woods, 52, of Evergreen Road, Pulaski, PA passed away the morning of July 27, 2013 in Warren General Hospital, Warren, PA.

He was born in Youngstown, OH on June 22, 1961 and was the son of the late James and Peggy Jo Campbell Woods. He is survived by his wife, the former Lisa Drabenstadt whom he married on May 14, 1988.

Mr. Woods worked as a roofer for Alex Roofing and he previously worked for Roth Brothers Roofing. He was a member of Roofers Local 71. He enjoyed hunting deer, NASCAR and in earlier years coaching baseball. Jerry was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle and his greatest joy was the time spent with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Chelsea Woods, Jessica Woods and Justin Woods all of Pulaski, PA; brother, Ed Woods and wife Margie of Edinburg, PA; two sisters, Cathy Thiesler and husband Gerry of Edinburg, PA and Lisa McDonald and husband Donald of Pulaski, PA and seventeen nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Joseph Woods.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3000 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. A service will be conducted on Tuesday at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Reverend Dennis Bupp will officiate.

Carole L. Borio Burkes, 63, of W. Washington St. passed away the evening of July 26, 2013 at Silver Oaks Nursing Center.

Born on September 27, 1949 in New Castle, Carole was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Naomi Foster Borio.

She had previously worked as a LPN at Highland Hall Nursing Home and Jameson Memorial Hospital. Carole enjoyed reading and loved her dog. She was known as being a good hearted person who cherished the times she spent with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Gina Burkes and Rick Burkes, both of New Castle and six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Callahan and her grandson, Karl Harris.

Memorial services will be private.

Burial will take place at Parkside Cemetery & Mausoleum.

Marylou Gadzia, 91, of New Castle passed away the morning of July 31, 2013 at Southpoint at Jameson.

Born in Hillsville, Pa. on August 8, 1921, Marylou was the daughter of the late Louis and Christine (Jennie) McCree Gregg. Preceding her in death in 2000, is her husband Guy Gadzia, whom she married on November 23, 1940.

She was a member of the Church of Genesis and the church’s choir. Marylou was a former employee of Cardland at Westgate Plaza and Isaly’s, also at Westgate Plaza. In earlier years she had worked for PoPo’s Restaurant and the Westgate Bakery. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, cooking and sewing. Marylou cherished the times she spent with her family.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth L. Gadzia and his wife Ada of Edinburg; her daughter, Christine Vitto of Charlotte, N.C; her brother, Richard Gregg of Canfield, OH; her sister, Christine Diana of Bessemer; two grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Nick Pasqurello, David Gadzia and two great-grandchildren, Zachary and Lucas.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marylou is preceded in death by one son, Gary Guy Gadzia and three brothers, George Gregg, Francis Gregg and Louis Gregg, Jr.

Private family visitation and services will be held at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Pastor Ron Eade of Church of Genesis will conduct services.

Entombment is in Castle View Memorial Gardens.

Dale Hennon

Dale C. Hennon, 94, of Orchard Dr, passed away the morning of July 30, 2013 at Orchard Manor in Grove City. He was born on August 30, 1918 in New Castle to the late Clarence and Mary Ellen Kelley Hennon. On December 24, 1938, he married the former Doris Williams. She survives.

He had previously served as a First Sergeant for the US Army. Dale retired from his job as a kiln operator for Universal Rundle in 1982. He was a member of the Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Dale also served as a member of the Shenango Area School Board for 34 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved golfing and bowling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Doris Ketzel and husband Lee of Grove City and Jeff Hennon and wife Jill of New Wilmington; grandchild, R. Kelly Smith and husband Brendan; great-grandchildren, Torin and Dalee Smith. Along with his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his son, Dale A. Hennon; grandson, Randall L. Ketzel; brothers, Clyde and Arthur Hennon; and sister, Velma Pyle.

His family will receive friends on Saturday from 12Noon to 1PM at the Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church 1947 Morris Street New Castle. A memorial service will be held at 1PM at the church, officiated by Rev. Larry Llewellyn, pastor of the Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church, and Rev. Thomas Williams, brother of Mrs. Doris Hennon.

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his honor to Orchard Manor Alzheimer’s Unit 20 Orchard Dr, Grove City, PA 16127.

Phyllis Katyansky

Phyllis J. “Minnie” Katyansky, 88, of Old Butler Rd passed away the afternoon of August 8, 2013 at Ellwood City Hospital.

Born on October 2, 1924 in New Castle, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Marie Carmen Palmiri Regna. Also preceding her in death on September 23, 1968 is her husband, Milton A. Katyansky.

Phyllis was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. She loved her forty years as a hairdresser in New Castle and Los Angeles. Music was important and she was always willing to dance or sing. Phyllis was a voracious reader. Her love of words were evident in her love of crossword puzzles and her writing poetry. She was very proud of her poetry being published in the New Castle News. Her generosity was ever present, if she had a dime she would give you a nickel. Her sparkling eyes and bright smile will be greatly missed by her family.

She is survived by her two children, Helen Marie Katyansky and Michael Katyansky, both of New Castle; her fiancé, Louis Matotek, her sister-in-law, Rose Regna; her step-sister, Ida Boazzo; her granddaughter, Stephane (Joseph) Mastropietro and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Mastropietro and Giavanna Mastropietro.

In addition to her parents and husband, Phyllis is preceded in death by her three sisters, Margaret Pearl, Agnes Apecelli, Hilda Ridenbaugh and two brothers, Joseph Regna and Jacob Regna.

Visitation is Sunday from 4PM to 8PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Monday morning at 10AM for St. Joseph the Worker Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM officiated by Rev. Father Nicholas Vaskov.

John Shafer

Services celebrating the life of John Shafer will be held in New Castle, PA on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home 3000 Wilmington Rd. Visitation will begin at 11am with services at noon.

John was born August 7, 1934 in Pittsburgh and as a young boy moved to Slippery Rock where he began his schooling in a one-room schoolhouse. Upon moving to Grove City, John played for the high school basketball team. He graduated from Grove City High School, Slippery Rock University, and earned his master’s degree and administrative degrees at the University of Akron.

John began his career as a chemistry teacher at New Castle High School, working summers as a chemist for American Cyanamid. He later became an educational leader as principal at Meadville High School, Mohawk High School, North Hills High School, and Peters Township High School. His understanding of teaching and learning combined with a sense of humor allowed him to touch the lives of so many fellow educators and students.

John tremendously enjoyed reading, traveling, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving and dedicated father. His middle name, Reichwine, translates as “powerful friend” and indeed that is what he was to so many.

A Pittsburgh boy at heart, he loved the city, its museums, restaurants, theaters, and warehouse district. He was known to be the most faithful Pittsburgh Steelers fan—even when he later moved to Pompano Beach, Florida.

John is survived by his son David (Jennifer) Shafer of Sarasota, Florida; his daughter, Anne Shafer of Mentor, Ohio; former spouse, Shirley Shafer of Boardman, OH; two sisters, Joan Chesin of Atlanta, Georgia and Margaret Marshall of Savannah, Georgia; as well as three step-daughters, 4 nieces, and 2 nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Dotterweich Shafer; his father, John Shafer, Sr.; and his wife, Jessie Stevenson Shafer.

Donald J. Conti, 80, of Smyrna, Delaware died Monday, August 5, 2013 in Delaware.

He was born August 30, 1932 in New Castle, Pa., a son of Laurence and Ann Jasen Conti. He is survived by his wife of fifty nine years, the former Angela Jean Esposito.

Don was a railroader who began his career with the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central, and Conrail. He retired as Superintendant of Transportation for both East and West Coasts Divisions of Amtrak. Following retirement he became Chairman of New Castle Pa. Area Transit Authority where many new transit programs were initiated. Don was also a funeral attendant at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home.

A member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church of Smyrna, Don was a U.S.Army veteran of the Korean War. Don was an active member of the Masons. In Smyrna he was a member of Harmony Lodge #13, A.F. & A.M. and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Bradywine Forest No. 20, and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. His memberships also included the American Legion, Italian American War Veterans and the Slovak Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters,Charlene Bell, Lauren Rose and husband Michael; Donna Jean Rose, Bernice Davis and husband Patrick; one son, Ralph Conti and wife Lisa, along with sixteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Laurence Conti; mother, Ann Jasen Conti Felici; stepfather, Ernest Felici, and brother, Larry Conti.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 10AM to 11AM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St.

A Blessing Service will be at 11AM conducted by Rev. Father Frank Almade, pastor of St. Vitus Church. Burial will follow in St. Vitus Cemetery.

Curtis Smoot

Curtis L. Smoot, 66, of New Castle, passed away the morning of August 12, 2013 at Edison Manor. He was born on October 24, 1946 in New Castle to the late Jasper and Violet Micco Smoot. He married the former Nancy J. Deep on May 26, 1989. She survives at home.

After more than 30 years of working as a furnace operator, Curtis retired from Remacor. He also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. An avid hunter, he was a member of the Shenango Hunting and Fishing Club. He and his wife loved to travel, especially on cruises. He also loved his pets very dearly.

In addition to his wife, Curtis is survived by his daughter, Michelle Bintrim and husband Ty of Waynesburg, PA, and sister, Karen Kassi of Franklin, PA.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5pm to 8pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11am at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Dennis Bupp.

Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.

Former Waldo St. resident, Jean A. Ryhal, 81, passed away the morning of August 11, 2013 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 29, 1931 in New Castle to the late Carl and Julia Ettinger Gardner. Jean was married to her first husband who preceded her in death, the late Robert Nail. She also was preceded in death by her second husband, the late William Ryhal.

A true outdoors lover, Jean enjoyed flowers, gardening, and camping with her friends and family. Her true passion was for her children and grandchildren who were her life.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean A. Hill of New Castle; brother-in-law, Clyde Roberts of New Castle; three sisters-in-law, Nancy Gardner, Susan Gardner, and Doris Gardner, all of New Castle; ten grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and two husbands, she is preceded in death by two sons, Robert Nail, Jr. and Joseph E. Nail; grandson, Joseph Lombardo; four brothers, Victor, Joe, Carl, and Elmer Gardner; two sisters, Margaret Roberts and Jackie Williams; son-in-law, James A. Hill; and sister-in-law, Ursala Gardner.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4PM to 6PM at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 Mill St. Services will be held at 6PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Oak Park Cemetery.
