Mary A. Cooper, 93, of New Castle passed away the evening of April 16, 2015 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born on February 10, 1922 in Hillsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nicolo and Mary Josephine Capezzuto Masinando. On September 28, 1946, she married her beloved husband, Joseph V. Cooper, and the two spent over 46 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on December 25, 1992. In her earlier years, Mary worked in the office of Shenango China. She then devoted her time to being a loving homemaker. An active member of St. Vitus Church, she often volunteered for the church and school and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to different card clubs, including the Merry Mams. A very friendly person, Mary will always be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to spend time with her family, especially her granddaughter. Mary is survived by her daughter, Pamela and husband Dr. J. Fred Stoner of New Castle; sisters, Lena Audino, Pauline Caravella, and Catherine (Lollie) DeLillo, all of New Castle; and granddaughter and love of her life, Joana Marie. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Franceschelli, and brothers, Anthony and Francis Masinando. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Monday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Father Frank Almade, pastor of St. Vitus Church. Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.
