Diane J. Baka, 69, of Center Church Rd. passed away the evening of December 3, 2012 at her residence. Born in New Castle on June 27, 1943, Diane is the daughter of the late Russell H. and Naomi L. Steele Myers. Surviving is her husband, Michael E. Baka, who she married on September 29, 1962. Diane was a member and deacon of Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church. She had worked as a secretary for George’s Auto Electric. In earlier years, she had worked for Haney’s Furniture and prior to that, Matthews Conveyor Company. She enjoyed flower gardening, taking painting classes and spending time with friends at her card club. Diane loved spending time with her family and especially cherished the times spent with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Diane is survived by her two sons, Michael J. Baka and his wife Christina, Mark E. Baka and his wife Vickie, both of New Castle; her brother, Joe Myers and wife Sheila of New Castle and her four grandchildren, Matthew, Sean, Mikayla and Blake. Visitation is Thursday from 4PM to 5PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 Sth. Mill ST. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 5PM officiated by Pastor Julia Williams of Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church. Burial will take place at Slippery Rock Presbyterian Cemetery.
