Fred Regna, 80, of Lathrop Street passed away the afternoon of December 2, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 4, 1932 in New Castle to the late Luigi and Clara LaVilla Regna. He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara DeAugustine whom he married October 6, 1956. Mr. Regna retired after 30 years from Elliott Steel where he worked as a roller. He was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1950-1954. He served during the Korean War Era on the USS Salem. He enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, gardening and sports. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved the time spent with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Steven Regna and wife Paula, Cheryl Myers and husband James and Louis Regna all of New Castle; five grandchildren, Hannah Davis and husband Mike, Brad Palmer, Jr., Louis Regna, Jr., Janelle Jones and Alonzo Regna and one great-grandchild, Gianna Regna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Theresa Regna and Elizabeth Regna and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Elizabeth DeAugustine. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street. A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be provided by the New Castle Area Honor Guard on Tuesday at the funeral home.
