Samuel R. DeLillo, 90, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on January 26, 2015. Born on November 11, 1924 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Joseph and Francis Aicone DeLillo. He is also preceded in death by his wife, the former Rita Mele. A longtime resident of Las Vegas, Samuel worked in the casino industry for many years and also enjoyed baseball, golfing, and spending time with his friends and family. Also a decorated World War II veteran, he earned a purple heart at the famous “Battle of the Bulge”. Survivors include a brother, Donald DeLillo and wife Julie, a sister-in-law, Justine DeLillo, all of New Castle, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joseph F. DeLillo, and an infant brother. Family will receive friends Friday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Memorial services will be conducted Friday at 3:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Father William Siple. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at the funeral home.
