Ralph D. Delio, 85, of New Wilmington, PA passed away the morning of August 6, 2014 at his residence. Born on June 28, 1929 in New Castle, he is the son of the late James and Emma Bronzi Delio Manzetti Delio. Surviving him at home is his beloved wife of 60 years, the former Josephine Orlando, whom he married on February 27, 1954. Ralph retired from his job as a mechanical engineer for his own company, Delio Forging and Steel. An industrious entrepreneur, he held three forging industry patents and one golf equipment patent. He belonged to First Baptist Church. Ralph also previously served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. A graduate of Youngstown State University, Ralph earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed travelling and playing the accordion. Ralph’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by his children, Joni Snow and husband Dr. James Snow III, Ralph J. Delio and wife Carol, both of New Castle, Marc S. Delio of New Wilmington; and grandchildren, Jamie Murry and husband Dr. Donald Murry III, Michael Snow and wife Lyudmila, Ralph Delio, Jr., Stephanie Delio, and Marc S. Delio II. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, John Delio, and sister, Margaret Memo. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor John Yergan of First Baptist Church. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites at the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Castleview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ralph’s honor to Jameson Hospice 1000 South Mercer Street, New Castle, PA 16101 or First Baptist Church 984 W Maitland Ln, New Castle, PA 16105.
