William Manolis, 85, of Neshannock Township died peacefully with his five sons and family at his side the morning of June 4, 2014 in Jameson Hospital. He was born November 18, 1928 in Sabraton, WV and was the son of the late James and Evangeline Caperis Manolis. On September 7, 1958 he married his wife, the former Rose Moses. She preceded him in death October 23, 2003. Mr. Manolis was a gentle and quiet man who led by example, and had a great sense of humor. He provided well for his family and loved to be with his sons, daughter-in-laws and grandchildren. After thirty plus years of service, he retired from the Internal Revenue Service where he worked as a Federal Agent. He was a United States Army veteran; serving in the Korean War. William was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. William is survived by five sons, James Manolis and wife Rosemary , John Manolis, Thomas Manolis, Nicholas Manolis and wife Jacqueline all of New Castle and Steven Manolis and wife Cynthia of Randolph, NJ; a brother, Steve Manolis of Chicago and nine grandchildren, William, Nicholas, Macy Rose, Taylor, Maddison, Julia, Alexa, Jack and Mark. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nick Manolis. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00PM – 4:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 3000 Wilmington Road. A Trisagion Service will be conducted on Saturday at 3:00PM at the funeral home. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30AM on Monday morning, June 9, 2014 for St. George Greek Orthodox Church where a service will be held at 11AM. Father Frank Tomarakos will officiate. Entombment will be in Castleview Memorial Gardens. Military rites will be provided by the New Castle Area Honor Guard on Monday at the cemetery.
