Clik here to view.Alice M. Biordi, 92, of New Castle passed away the evening of June 5, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born on January 17, 1922 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Donato and Rosina Lastoria Prioletti. On September 25, 1941, she married her beloved husband, the late Robert F. Biordi, and the two spent 67 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on May 30, 2009. Known for her wonderful Italian cooking, Alice worked as a cook for Parkstown Restaurant for over 20 years. She was a current member and one of the founders of Ladies of the Dukes. She also was a member of St. Vitus Church. An active participant in local politics for many years, Alice served as an election official for the 3rd Ward of New Castle. While she loved to play cards, her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends, especially during Sunday dinners. Alice is survived by her children, Robert Biordi and wife Pattie and Leanna Hoffman, all of New Castle; grandchildren, Alissa Siefert and husband Mike, Don Biordi and wife Sabra, Kylie Cermenaro and husband Jay, Amy DeVite, and John DeVite; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Cook, Clara Colaluca, Ida Fenati, and Ann Crisci; brothers, Dr. John Prioletti, Arthur Prioletti, Floyd Prioletti, and Andrew Prioletti; and son-in-law, Dr. Ellis Hoffman. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Monday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Fr. Nicholas Vaskov. Interment will take place at Parkside Cemetery.
