Edith S. Frankovich, 84, of Penny Lane passed away the morning of June 4, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born on May 13, 1930 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sophie Boron Anton. Surviving her at home is her beloved husband of 27 years, Joseph Frankovich Sr., whom she married on May 13, 1987. Edith had worked as a sales clerk for Treasure Island. She was also a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. She enjoyed cooking and baking, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and many friends of all ages. Edith will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her husband, Edith is survived by her daughter, Audrey Salamon of New Castle; step-children, Joseph Frankovich, Jr. and Kim Gwin, both of New Castle; two grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John J. Salamon; brothers, Henry Anton and Edwin Anton; and stepdaughter, Sharon Thomas. Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A blessing service will be conducted Friday at the funeral home at 12:00pm, officiated by Fr. Nicholas Vaskov. Interment will take place at Madonna Cemetery.
