Anthony D. (Joker) Goclano, Jr., 82, of New Castle passed away the morning of February 16, 2014 at his residence. Born on February 23, 1931 in New Castle, Anthony was the son of the late Anthony, Sr. and Mary DiPalmo Goclano. Surviving at home is his loving wife of sixty years, the former Josephine Venditto. Anthony was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War era. He was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish. Anthony retired from Scholl-Choffin Plumbing and Heating Company. After retirement he worked as a courier for Jameson Memorial Hospital. Anthony was a member of Teamsters Local for Youngstown and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was an avid golfer. Anthony was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished the times he spent with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Anthony is survived by his son, Daniel Goclano and his daughter, Carmie Ann Goclano, both of New Castle; his brother, Joseph Goclano and his wife Viola of New Castle and two grandchildren, Dana & husband Hamzeh Alfasatleh and Marissa Goclano. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Benjamin Goclano, Walter Goclano and sisters, Katherine West, Anna Paiano, Josephine Goclano and Lucille Budzowski. Visitation is Wednesday from 5PM to 8PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military honors at the funeral home on Thursday morning at 9:15AM. A procession will then leave the funeral home at 9:30AM on Thursday for St. Vincent De Paul Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM. Rev. Father Frank Almade will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Lucy Cemetery.
