Tony Tonsetic

Tony J. Tonsetic, 94, of 8th St., West Pittsburg, passed away the morning of February 3, 2014 at Edison Manor Nursing Home. Born in West Pittsburg on October 16, 1919, Tony was the son of the late Steve and Barbara Pavlich Tonsetic. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, the former Ann Carapellotti, whom he married on December 2, 1950. Tony was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Parish. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Tony retired from Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Products where he worked as a steel worker. He was a member of the ITAM, American Legion Post 343 and the Croatian Fraternal Union. Tony was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing baseball in his youth. He was a devoted and loving husband and father and cherished the times he spent with his family. In addition to his wife, Tony is survived by his daughter, Sandy Ryan and husband Mark of Kennesaw, Georgia and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George Tonsetic and John Tonsetic and four sisters, Kate Tonsetic, Ann Tonsetic, Millie Zappia and Theresa Papa. Visitation is Thursday from 4PM to 7PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military honors at the funeral home on Friday morning at 11:45AM. A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 12PM for St. Vincent De Paul Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30PM officiated by Rev. Father William Siple. Entombment will take place at Parkside Cemetery and Mausoleum.
