Florence C. Garczewski, 92, of Randolph St. passed away the evening of February 3, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. She was born in New Castle on March 14, 1921, a daughter of the late Edward and Elvira Mascio Bucci. Preceding her in death on November 25, 2001, is her husband, Adam A. Garczewski, Sr., whom she married on February 24, 1946. She was a member of St. Vitus Church. Florence retired from Kmart where she had worked as a clerk. Prior to that she had worked as a cook for Golden Hill Nursing Home and St. Francis Hospital. In earlier years she had worked for Shenango China. She enjoyed bingo, cooking and was a member of the Silver Threads. Florence was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the times she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Adam Garczewski, Jr. and wife Joann of New Castle; Robert Garczewski and wife Pam of Shirley, Indiana; Eugene Garczewski and wife Susan of New Castle; Donald Garczewski of New Castle; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Florence is preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel Bucci, Armando Bucci, Rudolph Bucci, Thomas Bucci and her infant sister, Helen Bucci. Visitation is Thursday from 5PM to 8PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday morning at 9:30M for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM. Rev. Father Frank Almade will officiate. Interment will take place at St. Philip and James Cemetery.
