William W. Duncan, Jr., 73, of New Castle passed away the evening of February 6, 2014 at Edison Manor. He was born on May 29, 1940 in Vestaburg, PA to the late William W. Sr. and Viola P. Brocco Duncan. On June 17, 1964, he married his beloved wife, the former Karen Werner. She survives at home. In 1993, William retired from his position as a Biology teacher for New Castle High School after 31 years. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife, William is survived by his children, Billy Duncan and wife Jennifer of New Castle and Kristen Watson and husband Christopher of Cumming, GA; brother, Homer Duncan of North Royalton, OH; and grandchildren, Jacob Duncan, Faith Duncan, Makenna Watson, and Alayna Watson. Visitation will be held Monday from 4pm to 6pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Services will be held Monday at 6pm at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Richard Nero. The family asks that donations be made in William’s honor to Alzheimer’s Association 1100 Liberty Avenue, Suite E-201 Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or Southern Care Hospice 2656 Wilmington Rd, New Castle, PA 16105.
