Daniel T. Guido, 72, of New Castle, passed away the evening of March 20, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born on November 8, 1943 in Ellwood City, PA, he was the son of the late Victor and Mary Court Guido. Daniel graduated from Lincoln High School and attended California State Teachers College. He was a former bank loan officer and retired as a finance manager for Phil Fitts. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church. Daniel is survived by his brother, Vic Guido and his wife Connie of Las Vegas, NV; niece, Tiffany Guido of Auburn, CA; and great-nephews, Ayden and Reichen Jefferson, both of Auburn, CA. Honoring Daniel’s wishes, there are no calling hours, and services are private.

Dolores J. Buchanan, 83, of Forest Ave. passed away the afternoon of April 1, 2016 at her residence. Born in Ellwood City on June 10, 1932, Dolores was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Jane Miller Evans. Preceding her in death on January 16, 1997 is her husband Clarence Buchanan whom she married on October 24, 1950. Dolores retired after working twenty three years in the housekeeping and kitchen departments at the Youth Development Center in New Castle. She enjoyed playing bingo and working puzzle books. Dolores cherished spending time with her family and loved her dog Chi Chi. She is survived by her three daughters, Sally Kerr, Sherry Klingensmith and Brenda Stephenson and her husband Earl, all of New Castle; her brothers, Thomas Evans and his wife Karen, Norman Evans and his wife Carol, both of New Castle; her sisters, Julie Fobes and her husband Gary of West Middlesex; Judy Baker and her husband Jack of Sharon; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores is preceded in death by her sister, Marcie Edeburn and her brother, Sam Evans. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00AM at the funeral home officiated by Rev. Bruce Rosa . Burial will take place at Parkside Cemetery.

Theodore Serjak

Theodore F. Serjak, 85, of Mount Jackson, PA, passed away the evening of April 2, 2016 at Jameson Care Center. Born on April 2, 1931 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Joseph and Louise Macek Serjak. On August 26, 1955, he married his beloved wife, the former Dorothy Wainer, and the two spent many wonderful years together until she preceded him in death on March 7, 2004. Theodore retired as an electrician for Bessemer Cement. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. An avid hunter, Theodore belonged to the Coon and Fox Club and was a lifetime member of the Ludlow Sportsman Club. He also was a member of the American Legion, SNPJ for 50 years, the AASR Valley of New Castle, and Meridian Lodge 41. Theodore was proud of being a Red Cross donor for life. He also was the co-owner of a hot air balloon and travelled 40 of the 50 states. Theodore is survived by his children, Ted Serjak of Bessemer, PA, Charlotte Serjak and companion Augustine Leone Jr. of Mount Jackson, PA, Beverly Deal of Mount Jackson, PA, Patty Williams and husband John of Pulaski, PA, Doug Serjak and wife Rachelle of Ocala, FL, and Doreen Altman and husband Paul of Bessemer, PA; son-in-law, Scott Deal of Bessemer, PA; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his 11 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon John Carran. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Thursday at the funeral home. Delores Lynn Carmen, 51, of Beckford Street, passed away the afternoon of April 3, 2016 at her residence. Born on January 21, 1965 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of Ernest Carey and Joan B. Williams, both who survive in Pittsburgh, PA. On August 13, 2005, she married her beloved husband, James E. Carmen. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2013. Delores had worked in child care services. She attended St. Paul Baptist Church and enjoyed gospel music and reading her daily devotional. Delores will always be remembered as a very caring person who was known to help everyone. In addition to her parents, Delores is survived by her children, Joan Stevens and husband Donte Sr. of Pittsburgh, PA, Keonna Fuqua, Daquon Fuqua, and Jasiah Williams, all of New Castle; brothers, William Williams of Pittsburgh, PA, Ronald Williams of South Carolina, Elijah Williams of Pittsburgh, PA, and Darrick Williams of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Lorena Williams, Denna Dixon, Anita Williams, and Marsha Williams, all of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Sarai Stevens, Donte Stevens Jr., and Destini Stevens; her stepchildren; and a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Joseph Haney

Joseph M. Haney Sr., 88, of Pulaski, PA, passed away the afternoon of April 7, 2016 at Overlook Medical Clinic. Born on November 29, 1927 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Martin L. and Alice McCormick Haney. He was also preceded in death by his beloved and devoted wife of over 50 years, the former Phyllis Reid, whom passed away on January 3, 2002. Joseph was self-employed as the owner of two Midas Muffler shops in New Castle and Austintown. He also was the owner of JM Haney Trucking Co. Inc. Joseph had served his country as a member of the U.S. Army and Navy during World War II and Korean War Era, stationed in El Paso, TX and the Aleutian Islands. He had attended St. James the Apostle Church, and he also was a former member of St. Mary Church of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. For many years, Joseph enjoyed spending his winters in Naples, FL. He also loved fishing and spending time with his family gathering at “Shamrock”, his family property and beloved piece of Paradise on Earth. Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph M. Haney Jr. and wife Debbie of New Castle, Debbie Sammon and husband Sterling of Boardman, OH, and Kathy Sudetic and husband David of Austintown, OH; brothers, Edward Haney and wife Patricia and Kenneth Haney and wife Bobbie, all of New Castle; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Eileen Meehan, Kathaleen Proch, and Marjorie Jenkins. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00am at St. James the Apostle Church, officiated by Father Larry Adams. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Mausoleum. Virginia Adamo

Virginia L. Adamo, 81, of Union Township passed away the morning of April 10, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born in New Castle on January 4, 1935, Virginia was the daughter of the late Stanley, Sr. and Severa Cora Sonski Kielar. She is survived by her loving husband of over fifty nine years, Richard A. Adamo whom she married on July 21, 1956. She was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish. In her earlier years, Virginia worked as a custodian for Union School District until eventually retiring from Jameson Hospital where she worked in the housekeeping department. Virginia enjoyed doing needlepoint and was known for being a wonderful cook. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished the times she spent surrounded by her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Richard S. Adamo and his wife Karen of New Castle, Kimberly Conn and her husband Marlin of Vero Beach, Florida, her daughter-in-law, Cassandra Adamo of New Castle; her sister, Helen Hardisky of New Castle; her two grandchildren, Kenneth Adamo and his wife Carrie, Matthew Adamo and her great-grandchild, Elliott Adamo. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Kenneth J. Adamo and her brother, Stanley J. Kielar. Visitation is Tuesday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Faye Williams, 91, of New Castle, passed away the morning of April 10, 2016 at Edison Manor. Born on June 8, 1924 in Austin, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Hoak. In 1942, she married her beloved husband, Dick Williams Sr., and the two spent over 61 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 2004. She had been an active member of Church of Nazarene, serving as a member of its outreach program for more than 20 years. Faye is survived by her children, Nancy Valiensi, John Williams, both of New Castle, and Helen (Peachie) Hammers of Clearwater, FL; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Dick Williams Jr., and 15 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00pm, officiated by Reverend Dennis Bupp. Interment will take place in Graceland Cemetery.

John C. DiCola, Sr, 86, of Neshannock Township passed away on Monday April 11, 2016 at Jameson Memorial Hospital with his family at his side. Born in New Castle on December 24, 1929, John was the son of the late Paris & Mary (Mazzocco) DiCola. He was a New Castle High School graduate and a 1968 graduate of Youngstown State University. He worked for the Johnson Bronze Company for 35 years as Vice President of Manufacturing. He later worked for Lark Enterprises, Inc. He was very active in the Neshannock Volunteer Fire Company where he held various positions. He most enjoyed family especially his grandchildren. John is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Sarbo) DiCola whom he married on November 25, 1949; his son John C. DiCola, Jr and his wife Dede; three sisters, Blance Quahliero, MaryAnn Corson and her husband Dr. Harvey, and Marcia Miot; two grandchildren, Holly DiCola and Ben DiCola and his wife Gina; and three great-grandchildren, Connor Thomas, Benny, and Isabella DiCola. Visitation will be on Friday April 15, 2016 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM followed by a Blessing Service at 7:00PM at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. John Audino

John Charles Audino, 88, of Warren Avenue, died on April 15 at 9:20 a.m. at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. Mr. Audino was born on March 12, 1928, in New Castle. He was the son of the late Ralph and Emma (Sorger) Audino. Mr. Audino is survived by his wife, Dolores (Dee Barletto), two daughters, Anna and Annette, and son-in-law Joel Santolla. He is also survived by his granddaughters and their husbands, Jennedy and Christopher Johnson and Joelle and Pearce Shea, and four great-granddaughters, Giovanna, Lucia, and Celestina Johnson and Eleanor Shea. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Patsy (Rose) and Paul (Kitty) Audino, and sisters Mary (Joseph) Romeo and Esther Margaret (Pete) Horney. He was also preceded in death by his mother- and father-in law, Michael and Catherine Barletto, who were like parents to him. A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, Mr. Audino served in the Navy after graduating from New Castle High School. In the 1950s and early 1960s, he was the manager of Moses Service Station on Long Avenue and then continued his service as a New Castle City Police officer. In 1969, Mr. Audino developed the statistical records department for the New Castle Police Department. This information was collected, recorded and microfilmed for the Pennsylvania State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He retired as a sergeant in 1987. Mr. Audino also worked as a driver for Allied Transportation services, where he continued to serve the people of New Castle. Mr. Audino was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP # 21, N.C.P.D.) and a parishioner of Mary, Mother of Hope Catholic Church. He was an avid reader and Steeler fan. He will be remembered for his kindness and fondness for the city of New Castle and, above all else, his sacrificial love for his family. An avid crossword puzzle finisher, Mr. Audino already had the right answers: faith, family, and love. There are no calling hours planned. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday at 10:00am at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.

Fred DePolis

Fred DePolis, 91, of New Castle passed away the morning of April 18, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born on April 9, 1925 in New Castle, Fred was the son of the late Lorenzo and Argentina Mucci DePolis. He is preceded in death on September 1, 2006 by his loving and devoted wife of over fifty seven years, the former Stella Capperino whom he married on September 11, 1948. Fred was a WWII veteran and served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a devoted member and longtime usher at St. Vitus Church. He was employed with the United Sates Post Office for over thirty five years retiring as an Assistant Postmaster. Fred enjoyed golfing, bowling and loved the times he spent with his family. He is survived by his companion, Dolly Mastroianni of New Castle; his two brothers, Albert DePolis and his wife Delores of Las Vegas, NV and Ronald DePolis and his wife Annette of New York, NY; sister–in-law, Nellie Mazzocca of New Castle; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Fred is preceded in death by his sisters, Gilda Pascarella and Eleanor McCummins. Visitation is Friday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30AM for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM. Rose M. Pelini, 84, formerly of Motor Street, passed away the morning of April 19, 2016 at Haven Convalescent Home. Born on June 10, 1931 in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Margaret Lombardo DeLuca. On September 22, 1956, she married her beloved husband, Arnold P. Pelini, and the two spent over 35 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on December 7, 1991. Rose had worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and later retired as a senior staff clerk. She was a member of St. Vitus Church. Rose enjoyed travelling, cooking, baking, knitting, and crocheting. Rose is survived by her children, Robert G. Pelini and wife Jane of Warren, PA and Richard A. Pelini and wife Kimberly of Allen, TX; sisters, Norma Ferrare, Alba Nativio, and Stella Valentino, all of New Castle; and three grandchildren. In addition to his parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Flora Ambrose, Mary Liverani, Fernanda Leone, Florence Cutlep, and Edna Christopher, and brother, Anthony DeLuca. James (Junior) DiMase Jr., 77, passed away on April 18, 2016 at Southern Pines Healthcare Center in New Port Richey, FL. Born May 17, 1938 in Milwaukee, WI, he was a son of the late James and Ruby DiMase. Jim had attended Shenango High School. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1959. For 35 years, Jim had worked as a truck driver. He loved to fish at Lake Okeechobee in Florida. He is survived by his children, Lisa, Michael, and Marie; grandchildren, Sara, Maggie, Dominic, and Raymond DiMase, Frank, Cliffton, and Dylan Murray; brother, Robert DiMase of New Castle; and sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Lou Lombardo of New Castle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Nathaniel and Dominic DiMase. There are no calling hours or services.

Dana Richard Wolfe, 58, of New Castle, passed away the evening of October 16, 2016 at his residence. Born on September 24, 1958 in East Liverpool, OH, he was the son of Charlynne Stillwagon Mills of New Castle and the late William R. Mills. He also is survived by his wife, Esther Bower. Dana had worked as a restaurant line cook. He enjoyed building model cars and playing drums. Dana also loved to listen to music and watch horror movies. In addition to his mother and wife, Dana is survived by his children, Brenda Ryhal of Mercer, PA and Jamie Wolfe of New Castle; brother, Randy L. Mills of New Castle; sisters, Patricia A. Bara and husband David of New Castle, Wendy S. Mills of New Castle, April J. Mills of Summerville, SC, and Rachel L. Hesidenz and husband Victor of New Bedford, PA; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents.
