Theodore F. Serjak, 85, of Mount Jackson, PA, passed away the evening of April 2, 2016 at Jameson Care Center. Born on April 2, 1931 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Joseph and Louise Macek Serjak. On August 26, 1955, he married his beloved wife, the former Dorothy Wainer, and the two spent many wonderful years together until she preceded him in death on March 7, 2004. Theodore retired as an electrician for Bessemer Cement. He also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. An avid hunter, Theodore belonged to the Coon and Fox Club and was a lifetime member of the Ludlow Sportsman Club. He also was a member of the American Legion, SNPJ for 50 years, the AASR Valley of New Castle, and Meridian Lodge 41. Theodore was proud of being a Red Cross donor for life. He also was the co-owner of a hot air balloon and travelled 40 of the 50 states. Theodore is survived by his children, Ted Serjak of Bessemer, PA, Charlotte Serjak and companion Augustine Leone Jr. of Mount Jackson, PA, Beverly Deal of Mount Jackson, PA, Patty Williams and husband John of Pulaski, PA, Doug Serjak and wife Rachelle of Ocala, FL, and Doreen Altman and husband Paul of Bessemer, PA; son-in-law, Scott Deal of Bessemer, PA; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his 11 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Deacon John Carran. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Theodore’s honor to Jameson Hospice 1000 South Mercer Street, New Castle, PA 16101.
