Dolores J. Buchanan, 83, of Forest Ave. passed away the afternoon of April 1, 2016 at her residence. Born in Ellwood City on June 10, 1932, Dolores was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Jane Miller Evans. Preceding her in death on January 16, 1997 is her husband Clarence Buchanan whom she married on October 24, 1950. Dolores retired after working twenty three years in the housekeeping and kitchen departments at the Youth Development Center in New Castle. She enjoyed playing bingo and working puzzle books. Dolores cherished spending time with her family and loved her dog Chi Chi. She is survived by her three daughters, Sally Kerr, Sherry Klingensmith and Brenda Stephenson and her husband Earl, all of New Castle; her brothers, Thomas Evans and his wife Karen, Norman Evans and his wife Carol, both of New Castle; her sisters, Julie Fobes and her husband Gary of West Middlesex; Judy Baker and her husband Jack of Sharon; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores is preceded in death by her sister, Marcie Edeburn and her brother, Sam Evans. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00AM at the funeral home officiated by Rev. Bruce Rosa . Burial will take place at Parkside Cemetery.
