Mildred Davis, 83, of New Castle, passed away the morning of February 18, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born on July 9, 1932 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Virginia Shearer. On April 30, 1956, she married her beloved husband, Glenn C. Davis, and the two spent over 42 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on December 12, 1998. After more than 30 years of working, Mildred retired from her job as a delivery driver for Warner Photo Shop. She was a member of the Church of God. Mildred enjoyed her animals and pets, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Mildred is survived by her children, Glenn D. Davis of New Castle and Thomas E. Davis of Butler, PA; brothers, James Shearer of New Castle, Charles Shearer of Mercer, PA, Francis Shearer of New Castle, and Robert Shearer of New Castle; and sisters, Helen Knight of New Castle and Charlotte Macek of Ft. Pierce, FL. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Forkey. Visitation will be held Saturday 10:00am to 11:00am at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00am at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend Richard Nero, hospice chaplain. Interment will take place in Neshannock Cemetery.
