Desdemona Maria (Dedde) Andruccioli Colecchi, 91, formerly of South Cascade St and Penny Lane passed away the evening of October 22, 2015. Born on May 4, 1924 in Rome, Italy, Dedde was the daughter of the late Edoardo and Anna Delle Colli Andruccioli. On May 18, 1946 in Rome, Italy she married her beloved husband, Joseph L. Colecchi and the two spent over sixty nine wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on October 21, 2015. The young war bride, along with 700 other war brides on the Thomas Berry ship, arrived in New York on July 27, 1946. Upon arrival she was met by her husband, Joseph and they settled in New Castle, PA on July 29, 1946 to start their lives together. Dedde was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. She is survived by her daughter, Ann J. DeCarbo and her husband Donald G. of New Castle; her two sisters, Rosa Angeletti and her husband, Ornaldo and Carolina Andruccioli, both of Rome, Italy; her granddaughter, Rosalyn A. Maitland and her husband William (Bill) of New Castle; her grandson, Edward J. DeCarbo and his wife Melissa of New Castle and the loves of her life, her three great grandchildren, Matthew W. Maitland, Marina R. Maitland and Ilaria M. DeCarbo. She is also survived by ten nephews and nieces and eleven great nephews and great nieces. In addition to her parents and husband, Dedde is preceded in death by her sister, Anna Maria Passeri Bianchi, her brother, Othello Andruccioli and sister-in-law Gina and nephew Edoardo Andruccioli. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00PM to 4:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill ST. Blessing Services will be conducted Sunday at 4:00PM at the funeral home, officiated by Father James Downs and Deacon John Carran. Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made in Dedde’s honor to Jameson Hospice 1000 South Mercer St. New Castle, Pa 16101.
