John Wright, 65, of Youngstown, OH passed away on September 10, 2015 at his residence. Born on February 25, 1950 in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Wilton and Florence Hammond Wright. John worked as a supervisor for the U.S. Postal Service and as a counselor for Youth Development Center. He also served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. John belonged to the Free & Accepted Masons and was an Exalted Ruler for the Elks. He attended Ebenezer Church of God in Christ. He enjoyed fishing and reading. John is survived by his children, Towanda Wright of New Castle, Teresa Wright of New Castle, Natasha Talley of Farrell, PA, and Selina Talley of New Castle; brother, James Wilkins, Jr. of Erie, PA; sisters, Gwendolyn Fish of Youngstown, OH and Brenda Wilkins of Winston-Salem, NC; aunt, Evelyn Hammond; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Trevaughn Thompson, and sister, Mary Wright. Visitation will be held Friday from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Ebenezer Church of God in Christ 1119 S Jefferson St. Services will be conducted Friday at 12:00pm at the church, officiated by Reverend Eric Brooks, pastor of Ebenezer Church of God in Christ. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery.
