Rose Passarette, 92, of Johns St., formerly of S. Mercer St., passed away the afternoon of January 21, 2013 at Jameson Hospital. Born in New Castle on March 25, 1920, Rose was the daughter of the late Angelo and Carrie Bullano Sands. Preceding her in death on October 24, 1988, was her husband, Joseph “BoBo” Passarette, who she married on June 20, 1940. Rose was a devoted member of St. Vitus Church and worked tirelessly as a volunteer yearly for their bazaar. She was the last surviving member of the Round Up Club. Rose enjoyed visiting casinos and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Survivors include two children, Annette Appugliese and her husband Frank of New Castle; Bernadette Frank and her husband Joseph of New Castle; her brothers, John Sands and his wife Christy of Las Vegas, NV; Vincent Sands and his wife Betty of New Castle; five grandchildren, Doug(Janine)Bennett, Michelle(Brian)Crisci, Beth (Tyler)Krivosh, Joseph(Lisa)Frank, Eugene(Mia)Frank and eight great-grandchildren, Brandon Bennett, Doug Bennett, Briana Crisci, Mason Crisci, Louis DiCaprio, Luke Krivosh, Joseph Frank and Michael Frank. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose is preceded in death by three sisters, Sue Bianchi, Mary Stone and Frances Sands. Visitation is Thursday from 10AM to 11:30AM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Thursday at 11:30AM for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12Noon. Rev. Father Frank Almade, pastor of St. Vitus Church, will officiate. Entombment will take place at Resurrection Mausoleum.
