Clik here to view.Norma J. Moses Sheldone, 78, of New Castle passed away after a courageous battle with cancer the morning of October 8, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born on May 14, 1936 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late John and Emma Albert Moses. Surviving her at home is her beloved husband of 51 years, Carmen Sheldone Jr., whom she married on June 1, 1963. Norma previously worked at JuneDale Cash Market and Holiday Inn and later retired from the advertising department for the New Castle News. She was an active member of St. Joseph the Worker Church and was the Secretary and Treasurer of the Mary Martha Guild of St. Joseph. She also belonged to People Concerned for the Unborn Child. A compassionate woman, Norma devoted her time to volunteering for the food pantry, and she crocheted blankets to take to local nursing homes. In addition to her husband, Norma is survived by her children, Carmen R. Sheldone III of New Castle, Jimmy Sheldone and wife Karen of New Castle, and Billy Sheldone of Uniontown, PA; brother, Norman A. Moses and wife Carolle of New Castle; and grandchildren, Randy and Rachel. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Buddea Moses, Sophie Thomas, Rose Manolis, and Sara Assid; and brothers, Waddy Moses, William Moses, Thomas Moses, Ralph Moses, and James (Dusty) Moses. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Saturday at 9:00am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at St. Joseph the Worker Church, officiated by Father Michael Ackerman. Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
