Anna Bosco, 98, of New Castle, formerly of Huey Street, passed away the evening of September 12, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born on January 16, 1916 in New Castle, she is the daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria Vitale Russo. Also preceding her in death on November 26, 1963 was her beloved husband, Joseph Bosco. Anna worked for Castlebrand Meats and in Dietary at St. Francis Hospital. She was a member of St. Vitus Church. Anna belonged to the Ladies Guild of St. Vitus Church and St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary. She was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Anna is survived by her daughter with whom she made her home, Rosalyn Uber of New Castle; sister, Laura Faraone of Sinking Spring, PA; grandchildren, Carin Bosco, Louis Bosco, Jr. and wife Mary Lou, Joseph Bosco and wife Jennifer, and Adrienne Langguth and husband Michael; and great-grandchildren, Maria, Teresa, Michael, Moriah, Eden, Judah, and Dannah Bosco. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Louis Bosco, Sr.; brothers, Frank Russo and John Russo, Sr.; and sisters, Jennie DiGennaro, Rose Faraone, Mildred Nativio, and Tillie Medure. Visitation will take place Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Rev. Michael Ackerman of St. Vitus Church. Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.
