Marion Walter Owoc, 82, of Union Township, passed away the evening of August 31, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born on July 5, 1932 in New Castle, he is the son of the late Peter and Rose Buczek Owoc. Surviving him at home is his beloved wife of 56 years, the former Betty Cwiakala, whom he married on August 30, 1958. After working for more than 20 years, Marion retired as an inspector for Rockwell International. He also previously served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. Marion is a former member of Madonna Church and also belonged to the Polish Falcons. He loved bowling, golf, and polka dancing. A sports enthusiast, Marion loved to watch Pittsburgh’s teams and his grandson’s soccer games. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Marion is survived by his sons, David Owoc and wife Adele of Shelby, NC and Tom Owoc of New Castle; grandchildren, Michael, Emily, and Jacob Owoc; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Julian and Eugene Owoc, and sister, Clara Lance. Honoring his wishes, no calling hours are planned, and private services will be held at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd, officiated by Father Frank Almade. Entombment will take place at Castleview Memorial Gardens.
