Michael L. Orelli, Jr., 67, of Hazen St passed away the afternoon of August 22, 2014 at his residence. Born on February 14, 1947 in New Castle, he is the son of the late Michael Sr. and Kathleen McCall Orelli. Surviving him at home is his longtime companion, Vickie Caulfield. Michael retired from his position as Track Foreman for P & LE Railroad. He also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. Very active in his local veterans’ associations, Michael served as Commander of V.F.W. Post 315 for 11 years, an All State Commander for the PA V.F.W., and a service officer of V.F.W. He also belonged to the American Legion and served on the Lawrence County Veterans Council. Michael also enjoyed fishing. In addition to his companion, Michael is survived by his children, Michael Orelli of Phoenix, AZ and Lisa Ciavarino and husband Chris of Hermitage, PA; step-son, Anthony Flamino of New Castle; brothers, Fred and Leo Orelli, both of New Castle; and grandchildren, Cecilia Marie Ciavarino and Eli Nathaniel Orelli. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ernest Orelli, Sr. Private services were held at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St, officiated by Reverend Frederick Gilbert.
