Guido J. (Guy) Troggio, 91, of Shenango Township, passed away the evening of August 26, 2014 at Edison Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on January 22, 1923 in Mohawk, PA, he is the son of the late Fortunato and Romana Bondi Troggio. On September 6, 1946, he married his beloved wife, the former A. Jane Iatonna, and the two spent 60 wonderful years together until she preceded him in death on October 6, 2006. After over 45 years of working, Guy retired as a partner and Vice President of Davis International Construction Company. He belonged to St. Joseph the Worker Church. He also previously served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force as a B-29 and B-17 pilot. Even after his military service, Guy loved being a pilot. He enjoyed boating, bocce, and playing his harmonica, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. Guy is survived by his sons, Larry Troggio and wife Charlene of New Castle and Thomas Troggio and wife Connie of Cave Creek, AZ; sister, Margaret Copple of New Castle; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lee and Reggie Troggio. Visitation will take place Tuesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Wednesday at 9:15am at the funeral home. A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Interment will take place at Castleview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 1100 Liberty Avenue, Ste. E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
