Mary P. Plink, 97, of Hazen St. passed away the morning of July 2, 2014 at Avalon Nursing Center. Born on September 26, 1916 in New Castle, she is the daughter of the late Cesare A. and Filippina Arone Morgan. On May 11, 1936, she married her beloved husband, James Plink, and the two spent over 51 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on September 2, 1987. In her early years, Mary worked as a decorator for Shenango China. She was a member of St. Vitus Church. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Mary is survived by her daughter, Joanne Phillips and husband Bucky of New Castle; granddaughter, Karen Ferrante and companion Casey Marino; great-grandchildren, Krystina Corrins and husband Greg and James Ferrante and fiancée Lexi Specht; nephew, Frank Simunaci; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Simunaci and Jennie Russo; and brothers, Walter Morgan, Anthony Morgan, Frank Morgan, and Domenic Morgan. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Saturday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Fr. Frank Almade. Interment will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.
