Thomas A. Ginocchi, Sr., 70, of New Castle passed away the morning of May 29, 2014 at his residence. Born on April 10, 1944 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Anthony and Julia Sniezek Ginocchi. Surviving him at home is his beloved wife of 47 years, the former Carol Fulena, whom he married on October 8, 1966. After 43 years of working, Thomas retired from his job as a millwright for Local Union #2235. He was a member of St. Vitus Church. A member of the National Corvette Restorer Society, Thomas was a classic car enthusiast who especially loved Corvettes. He also belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Lawrence County Building Trades Council. Thomas also served on the Board of Directors for Riverside Apartments. Thomas always will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy came from spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by his son, Tom Ginocchi, Jr. and wife Kristin of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Leonard Ginocchi and wife Rosdiana of Laurel, MD; sister, Victoria Book and husband William of Franklin, PA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria and Chuck Peak of New Castle; and grandchildren, Tommy III and Olivia. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Saturday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Rev. Fr. David Bonnar, pastor of St. Bernard Church in Mt. Lebanon. Entombment will take place at Parkside Mausoleum.
