William Francescone, 83, of New Castle passed away the evening of April 30, 2014 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Wexford, Pa. Born in New Castle on February 14, 1931, William was the son of the late Alesandro “Alex” and Antoinette Farone Francescone. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty three years, the former Elizabeth Mihok, whom he married on April 7, 1951. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. William was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He retired from Castle Brand Meats where he worked as a salesman. William loved to keep busy and was still actively working at Castle Builder Supply Company. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and watching sports. William will be remembered as a loving husband and family man, and a kind and caring father and grandfather who adored his children and grandchildren. In addition to his wife Elizabeth, William is survived by his three children, Deborah Clements; Cindy Barber and her companion Steve Stelter; William M. Francescone and wife Patti, all of New Castle; his five grandchildren, Jessica Latcheran, Jacqueline Lamorella, Alyssa Francescone, Joshua Barber, Jamie Watkins and five great-grandchildren. Preceding William in death are his parents, two brothers, David Francescone, Eugene “Gino” Francescone, his sister, Julia Francescone, son-in-law, Richard Clements and his nephew, David Francescone. Visitation is Sunday from 2PM to 5PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Monday at 9:30AM for St. Joseph the Worker Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM officiated by Rev. Father Nicholas Vaskov. Entombment will take place at Castle View Memorial Gardens. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military honors at the cemetery.
