James R. Hooks, 50, of Alborn Ave passed away the morning of April 23, 2014 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born on May 16, 1963 in Lawton, OK, he is the son of James W. and Phyllis Moore Hooks, both of New Castle. James is also survived by his beloved wife of over 20 years, the former Anita Brown, whom he married on June 5, 1993. James owned Jim Hooks Auto Repair in New Castle and was a member of Moose Lodge 51 and Castle Pistol Club. He enjoyed car racing at Mercer Raceway, hunting, and motorcycling. In addition to his wife and parents, James is survived by his children, Jason Hooks, Jill Hooks, Jessica Hooks, and Brian Hooks, all of New Castle; brothers, Scott Hooks and wife Dawn, Rick Hooks and wife Dawn, and Shaun Hooks and wife Kate, all of New Castle; and nine grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, and two uncles. Honoring his wishes, there are no calling hours, and services are private.
