Rose Maria Nero Regna, 95, of Haus Ave. passed away the evening of March 12, 2014 in Ellwood City Hospital. Born December 8, 1918 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Philomena Nero. Preceding her in death on June 2, 2010 is her husband, Joseph James Regna whom she was married to for 68 years. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church. Rose worked most of her life as a waitress at various restaurants, Hoover’s Restaurant, Coach and Lantern Restaurant, Yerage’s Restaurant and the New Castle Country Club. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, going to bingo and traveling to area casinos. Rose is survived by three children, Joseph Regna, Jr.; Richard Regna and wife Joyce; Cindy Regna Warso, all of New Castle; five grandchildren, Christopher Warso, Casey Deem and husband Nate, Tonya Evangelista and husband Steve, Richard Regna, Jr. and wife Renee, Jeanette DiMuccio and husband Justin and eight great-grandchildren, Nicholas Evangelista, Grace Evangelista, Isabella Regna, Luke Regna, Ryan Regna, Maria DiMuccio, Ellie DiMuccio and Nate Deem II. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Apecelli, Irene Cratty, Lena Nero and two brothers, Samuel Nero, Sr. and Rudolph Nero, Sr. Visitation is Friday from 5PM to 8PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9:30AM for St. Joseph the Worker Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM. Rev. Father Nicholas Vaskov will officiate. Entombment will take place at Parkside Mausoleum.
