Cornelius V. Wise, 78, of Youngstown passed away the afternoon of March 2, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Born in New Castle on November 3, 1935, Cornelius was the son of the late Anderson, Sr. and Dorothy N. Campbell Wise. Cornelius served in the US Navy. He had worked as an auto body technician at several local auto shops in New Castle. Cornelius enjoyed sports and in his youth ran track and field, played football and was known for his exceptional speed. He also enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his two daughters, Marjorie Wise of Butler; Connie Wise of New Castle; his son, Vincent E. Wise and wife Cathy of New Castle; two brothers, George Wise of New Castle; Lorenzo Wise of Youngstown; five sisters, Joy Waters of Maryland; Shirley Samuels of New Castle; Geraldine Love of New Castle; Beverly Wise of New Castle; Thomasena Howell of Alliance, Oh; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Cornelius is preceded in death by his sister, Lorali Wise and four brothers, Cleveland Wise, Charles R. Wise, Robert E. Wise, Sr. and Elder Anderson Wise, Jr. Visitation is Friday from 11AM to 12Noon at St. Paul’s Baptist Church 616 W. North St. New Castle, Pa. 16101. Homegoing Services will be held at the church at 12PM officiated by his son, Minister Vincent E. Wise. Burial will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
