Shirley A. Miller, 75, passed away the morning of December 18, 2013 at her residence in New Castle. She was born in New Castle on June 9, 1938 to the late Chester and Sarah Ingle Nicolls. On September 14, 1974, she married her beloved husband, John W. Miller of New Castle. He survives at home.
She loved shopping, going to yard sales, and playing bingo, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by her children, Howard Jackson of Honolulu, HI, Nickie Rickel and husband Don of New Castle, Debbie Jackson of New Castle, Tracy Nestorek and husband Bob of New Castle, Ricky Jackson of Youngstown, OH, Mary Ann Byler and husband Ken of New Castle, Amanda Booher and husband Dave of Finleyville, PA, Suzanne Munson and husband Leroy of New Castle, John G. Miller and wife Debbie of New Castle, Elaine Gurtner and husband Jeff of Pulaski, PA, and Mark Miller and wife Sandy Houston, TX; brother, Gary Nicolls and wife Kathleen of New Castle; 40 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Harold Nicolls, and sisters, Delores Kirk and Evelyn Johns.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4pm to 7pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11am at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Barbara Moore.
Interment will take place at Castleview Memorial Gardens.
