Freda V. Perillo, 79, of 505 Eighth Street passed away the afternoon of August 22, 2013 in Edison Manor.
She was born October 20, 1933 in Morgantown, WV and was the daughter of the late Stefano and Francesca Marcucci Antonelli. On May 19, 1984 she married her husband, the late Mario P. Perillo who preceded her in death September 6, 2007.
Mrs. Perillo in earlier years worked as an operator for AT&T. Later she worked as a nurse’s aide for several local nursing homes. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching and was a fan of New Castle sports teams, WVU Mountaineers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Freda loved her family and the time spent with them, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
Mrs. Perillo is survived by three children, Chris Tsangaris and fiance Roberta Falba, Connie Bollinger and husband John and Cheryl Tsangaris all of New Castle; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Freda was preceded in death by two brothers, Demetrio Antonelli and Fred Antonelli and one sister, Vera Antonelli.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Monday for a mass of christian burial celebrated by Father Nicholas Vaskov at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Interment will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
