Frank T. Recklaw, 79, of Lee Avenue passed away the afternoon of June 25, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Akron, OH on April 1, 1934 and was the son of the late Albert and Ethel Cross Recklaw. He is survived by his loving wife of forty seven years, the former Helen A. Reimer.
Mr. Recklaw retired from Den-Vend where he worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed gardening and doing mechanic work. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Alan Recklaw and wife Sharon of Akron, OH, James Recklaw, Babs Peoples and husband Jeffrey and Sheila Shevitz and husband Edwin all of New Castle, Daniel Recklaw and wife Jean of Longs, SC and Jack Recklaw of Atwater, OH; sister, Ernestine (Cookie) Fletcher of Atwater, OH; best friend, Thomas Scurlock of New Castle; twenty three grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Frank Recklaw, Jr; seven brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street. A service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Friday at the funeral home. Pastor John Yergan of First Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Parkside Cemetery.
