Richard E. Reca, 82, of Grange Rd. passed away the morning of May 5, 2013 at the Butler VA Hospital. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 20, 1931, Richard was the son of the late Edward B. and Stella Petriski Reca. Surviving is his wife, the former Carol Reitz who he married on March 22, 1996. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force and served during the Korean War. He retired in 1983 from Western Union where he worked as a computer technician. Richard loved sailing and had sailed the Caribbean Sea. He was a artist and enjoyed painting and gardening. In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his sister, Bonnie Koch of Beaumont,CA; his granddaughter, Brooke Jones of Lakewood, OH; and his great-grandchild, Tabitha Jones. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his son, Richard Patrick Reca. Visitation is Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 12PM to 1PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1PM officiated by Rev.Dennis Bupp. Memorial contributions may be mailed to the American Cancer Society P.O.
