Edward W. ‘Obi’ Fosnaught, 70, of Carl St. passed away the morning of March 29, 2013 at his residence in New Castle. Born in Eden Valley, Pa. on April 11, 1942, Ed was the son of the late Harry and Katherine Bable Fosnaught. Preceding him in death on January 31, 2012 is his wife, the former Mary Tingley, whom he married on December 11, 1974. He retired from Babcock and Wilcocks Steel Corporation where he worked as a laborer. Ed was a member of the New Castle Elks and the Tow Jagielly Clubs. He enjoyed cutting grass, watching John Wayne movies and assisting the elderly. Survivors include his children, Josephine M. Weston and her husband David, Christina Fosnaught, both of New Castle; two brothers, Harry Fosnaught of Freedom, Pa; Richard Fosnaught of New Brighton, Pa; four sisters, Edna Fosnaught of Freedom, Pa; Doretta Fosnaught of SC; Loretta Folkner of SC; Thelma Fosnaught of Neglia, OH; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Edward was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Visitation is Wednesday from 4PM to 7PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. Following visitation, a Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home at 7PM officiated by Rev. Father William Siple of St. Vitus Church. Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
