Geraldine(Gerry) Wilson Malizia, 80,of Overlook Medical Clinic in New Wilimngton, Pa. passed away the evening of March 16, 2013 at Jameson Hospital in New Castle. Born in New Castle on December 30, 1932, Gerry was the daughter of the late Alex and Sarah Covert Wilson. Gerri was a homemaker and enjoyed taking walks at Pearson Park. She cherished the times she spent with her family. Survivors include her children, Georgiann Malizia of Warren, Oh; Carmen Jean Malizia and her husband Tony Harper of Atlanta, Ga; Cindy Longo and her husband Mike, Sr. of Boardman, Oh; son-in-law, Joseph Chill, Jr. of New Castle; her three nieces and three grandchildren, Brittany Duran, Michael Longo, Jr. and Nicollette Longo. In addition to her parents, Gerry is preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Chill, her former husband, George Malizia and her two sisters, Ina Maxwell and Helen Weingartner. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday at 6PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. New Castle, Pa. 16105 officiated by Rev. Dennis Bupp. In lieu of flowers, donations may be mailed to the Tri County Autism Society 3 Centennial Drive Poland, OH 44514.
