Will Martin (Marty) Rodgers, 72, of New Castle, passed away the morning of March 24, 2016 at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on April 11, 1943 in Edinburg, PA, he was the son of the late Wilbur C. and Blanche E. Ketler Rodgers. Surviving at home is his beloved wife of over 50 years, the former Loretta Jean Mills, whom he married on June 26, 1965. Marty retired as an engineer for the P&LE Railroad. He also served his country for six years as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. In his earlier years, Marty enjoyed working on cars. Later in life, he loved woodworking. His greatest joy came from spending time with and teaching his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Marty is survived by his children, Cheryl Ann Rofrano and husband Louis Jr. of Spring Grove, IL and Lori Jean Szewczyk of New Castle; brother, Albert; sister, Linda; grandchildren, Jessica, Brandon, Gregory, Louis III, Dominick, and Nicholas; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Gene, Monroe, and Willie, and one sister, Deloris. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. Services will be conducted Monday at 7:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Reverend David Bell. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Monday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
