Jennie D. Compeli, 92, formerly of Forrest Street, passed away the evening of March 6, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born on June 24, 1923 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mildred Martarella Padula. Also preceding her in death was her husband, James Compeli Sr., who passed away on February 15, 1986. Jennie had worked as a nurse’s aide for Jameson Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Vitus Church and belonged to the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed shopping and cooking, but Jennie’s greatest joy came from spending time with her family and friends. Jennie is survived by her children, Michael Compeli and wife Leona of Chicago, IL, James Compeli and wife Angela of New Castle, Mary Ann Innocenzi and husband Frank of Edinburg, PA, and Patrice Fiore and husband John of Abingdon, VA; grandchildren, Kimberly Dalton and husband Paul, Kelly Cavelli and husband Fred, Anthony P. Innocenzi and wife Cynthia, James Compeli and wife Rachel, Christopher Innocenzi and wife Erin, and John Fiore; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Cavelli, Leanne Cangey, Victoria Innocenzi, James Compeli, Kaylee Compeli, Frank Innocenzi, Vincent Innocenzi, and Salvatore Innocenzi. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Aven, and her twin brother. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Friday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Father William Siple. Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.
