Frances M. Fregone, 93, formerly of N. Mulberry St in New Castle, passed away the morning of January 9, 2016 at the Village at Morrison Cove in Martinsburg, PA. Born on October 19, 1922 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Mangione Anzalone. On February 2, 1946, she married her beloved husband, George A. Fregone Jr., and the two spent over 62 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on April 3, 2008. In her earlier years, Frances was a former employee of Oliver Iron and Steel Company and the Pants Factory. She was a member of St. Vitus Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Frances’ greatest joy came from doing things for others and spending time with her family. Frances is survived by her children, Roseann Fregone of Hollidaysburg, PA and George Fregone III and wife Cheryl of Windham, NH and brother, Richard Anzalone of New Castle. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Anzalone, George Angelo, Joseph Angelo, Samuel Anzalone, Sam Anzalone, and Anthony Anzalone; and sisters, Mary Jane Mowry, Rose Hanes, Rita Weir, Clara Passifiume, and Baby Frances Anzalone. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church.
