Victor A. Galmarini, Sr., 81, of Summit View Dr. died the morning of Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Jameson Hospital. He was born December 25, 1931 in New Castle, to the late Angelo and Rose Moneta Galmarini. He is survived by his wife, the former Louise Jannetti, who he married on May 29, 1954. He was a member of St. Camillus Church. Victor was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He worked as an mechanic for the U.S. Post Office and also owned his own garage before retirement. Victor was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the American Legion Post No. 343 and past president of the Ostomy Club. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing cards and visiting casinos. He also loved watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Victor was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who lived for his family. He cherished the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Victor is survived by his four daughters, Carol Stelts and her husband Dave of Edinburg; Vickie Gingras and her husband Gene of Chattanooga Tenn; Patty Julian, Laurie Alberico and her husband Mike, both of New Castle; one son, Victor Galmarini, Jr. of New Castle; two brothers, Angelo Galmarini, Jr. of New Wilmington; Anthony Galmarini of West Pittsburg; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Aldo Galmarini and his infant great grandson, Brian Michael Grande. Visitation is Tuesday from 4PM to 7PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S. Mill St. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites at the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 9:15AM. A procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30AM for St. Camillus Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM. Rev. Father Thomas Lewandowski, pastor of St. Camillus Church, will officiate. Internment will take place at St. Vitus Cemetery.
