Sam Staph, Jr., 89, of Snake Run. Rd. passed away the afternoon of March 21, 2015 at Jameson Hospital. Born in New Castle on May 20, 1925, Sam was the son of the late Sam, Sr. and Rose Wischermann Staph. He is preceded in death by his wife, the former Gertrude Wilson. Sam was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during WWII. He was the owner and operator of Staph’s Garage where also worked as a mechanic. Sam enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his companion, Martha Garanski; his daughter, Rose Watros of Traverse City, Michigan; one brother, Francis Staph of Grove City, Pa; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Sam is preceded in death by his two sons, Anthony Staph and Sam Staph III, his brother, Joseph Staph and his sister, Mabel Keller. Services will be private
