Josephine M. DeMarc, 71, of New Castle passed away the evening of December 27, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born on April 27, 1943 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Ponziani and Mary DeMarco-Coci-Ango. She is survived by her former husband, Charles DeMarc of West Pittsburg. Josephine previously worked for DeMarc’s Auto Salvage in West Pittsburg and as a sorter for the City Rescue Mission. She also worked as a Home Health Aide for Jameson Memorial Hospital and as a secretary for the Jameson Outreach Program. Also in her earlier years, Josephine owned and operated Little Joe’s Pizza Shop. She was a member of St. Vitus Church. Josephine loved country music, fishing, and camping and was an avid Steelers fan. A kind hearted woman, she was known for helping people and was an animal lover. In addition to her former husband, Josephine is survived by her sisters, Connie Coci-Todd and husband Dave of New Castle, Rose Marie Mitchell of New Castle, Teresa Krasinski and husband Joe of Poland, OH, and Mary Lou Ango of New Castle, and many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, William S. Ango, Jr.; stepfathers, Nick Coci and William S. Ango, Sr.; brother-in-law, Larry Mitchell; and dog, JPS. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Vitus Church, officiated by Father William Siple. Interment will take place at Parkside Cemetery.
