Marlene L. (Wea) Sawick, 63, of 1169 Lightner Place passed away the afternoon of January 17, 2013 in Jameson Hospital. She was born December 13, 1949 in New Castle and was the daughter of the late John and Mary Perrett Sawick. She was preceded in death in 2011 by her husband, the late James Watts. Marlene was the owner and managed two restaurants; the Rocky River Restaurant and the LaMars Restaurant both in North Carolina. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her nieces, nephew, great niece and great nephew. She is survived by a sister, Andrea Ayers and husband Ed of New Castle; two nieces, Morgan Lynch and Alexandra Ayers; nephew, A.J. Ayers; great niece, Payton Lynch and great nephew, Jaxson Lynch. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her aunt and uncle who raised her, Andy and Dolores Marmo. The family will receive friends and family on Monday from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 941 S. Mill Street. A blessing service will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Father Nicholas Vaskov of St. Vitus Church will officiate. Entombment will be in Parkside Cemetery Mausoleum.
