Charles D. “Dan” Adams, 71, of New Wilmington, PA passed away the afternoon of November 6, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born on December 8, 1942 in Youngswood, PA, he was the son of the late Charles D. Sr. and Betty S. Kline Adams. Surviving him at home is his beloved wife of 35 years, the former Teresa L. Cast, whom he married on May 5, 1979. Charles retired from his job as a Buyer and Inspector for Giant Eagle. He was currently employed as a school bus driver for Neshannock School District. Charles also previously served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. Charles was known as a wonderful cook who liked landscaping and golfing. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, and he will always be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his children, Danielle Perrotta and husband Augusto and Gabrielle Adams and companion Frank Medure, all of New Castle; sister, Judy Detar of Bellfonte, PA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marion “Lucky” and Melinda D’Augostine of New Castle; grandson, Tino Perrotta; and nephews, Matthew and Jonathan Detar. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 4:00pm at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Dennis Bupp. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions take the form of donations made in Charles’ honor to Lawrence County Animal Relief Fund, P.O. Box 8514, New Castle, PA 16107.
