Dolores J. Watkins, 91, formerly of Fairmont Ave in New Castle, passed away at Jameson Hospital on the evening of November 3, 2014. Born on June 11, 1923 to James T. O’Leary and Marie Morissey O’Leary, she was preceded in death by her parents and her only son, Gary W. Watkins. She is survived by her brother, Edward O’Leary and wife Jeanne of New Castle; two grandchildren, Erin and Connor Watkins; two nieces, Lauren O’Leary Tamulonis and Elyce O’Leary; a longtime friend who was like a second son to her, Joseph Waltenbaugh of New Castle; a great-niece and great-nephew and their children. Dolores was a 1941 graduate of New Castle Senior High School and a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. She had worked at the Watkins Agency and was later employed in the insurance department of Beaver/Lawrence County AAA from where she retired. An avid bridge player over the years, she enjoyed playing cards and socializing with her friends at the Challenges Center in New Castle. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home Friday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Mary Mother of Hope Church, officiated by Father Michael Ackerman. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
