Madaline N. Bucci, 91, of New Castle passed away the evening of August 19, 2014 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born on December 16, 1922 in New Castle, she is the daughter of the late Domenick A. and Elizabeth Faella Minice. On May 22, 1943, she married her beloved husband, Alfred D. Bucci, and the two spent 70 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on January 4, 2014. Madaline was a loving and devoted homemaker. She belonged to St. Vitus Church and enjoyed crocheting and baking. Madaline will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished the time she spent with her family. Madaline is survived by her daughter, Thomasina Abdoe and husband Omar of New Castle; daughter-in-law, Diana Bucci of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Lisa DePorzio Reeping (née Abdoe) and husband Jeff, Scott Bucci and wife Melissa, and Mark Bucci and wife Courtney; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Michael Bucci, brother, Frank Minice, and sister, Rose Fazzone. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 941 S Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home Friday at 9:30am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vitus Church at 10:00am, officiated by Father Michael Ackerman. Interment will take place at Parkside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Madaline’s honor to the American Cancer Society 3208 Wilmington Rd, Ste B, New Castle, PA 16105.
