Douglas C. Weingartner, 60, of Ellwood Rd, passed away the evening of July 11, 2014 at his residence. Born on July 17, 1953 in Ellwood City, PA, he is the son of the late Harold (Paul) and Margaret Koch Weingartner. Surviving him at home is his beloved wife of 20 years, the former Jo-Ellen Clare, whom he married April 23, 1994. Douglas owned Paul’s Auto Body Shop in Ellwood City. A graduate of Lincoln High School, he also attended Ohio Northern University. A devoted member of Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church, Douglas served as an elder and deacon. Douglas also belonged to the Saxon Club in Ellwood City. In addition to his wife, Douglas is survived by his children, Trevor Douglas Weingartner of Cranberry Township, PA and Asia Ann Weingartner of Ellwood City, PA; brothers, Dave Weingartner of Mercer, PA and Duane Weingartner of Ellport, PA; and grandchildren, Haylee Ann Weingartner and Talon Douglas Green. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepson, Justin Elliott Burnett. No calling hours are planned. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00pm at Slippery Rock Presbyterian Church Old Pittsburgh Rd, Ellwood City, PA, officiated by Rev. Julia Williamson. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
