David L. Richards, 67, of New Castle passed away the morning of June 14, 2014 at Jameson Hospital. Born in New Castle on April 5, 1947, David was the son of the late Karl and Shirley Clausen Richards. Surviving at home is his loving wife, the former Kimberly Minns whom he married on December 15, 1984. David was a graduate of Kent State University where he earned an Associate of Art Degree in General Studies and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from Metals Engineering Institute. He had been an Adjunct Instructor for Kent State University. David also served on the University’s Business Technology Advisory Board and the U.S. Congressional Advisory Board as a State Advisor. David retired from the Keystone Rolls Corporation where he worked in Sales and Marketing. Prior to that, he had worked for Forney’s Incorporated and in earlier years, New Castle Industries. David and his wife, Kimberly also owned and operated Pheasant Run Kennels and bred English Field Spaniels and Labrador Retrievers. He loved hunting, fishing and was an avid fan of baseball. In addition to his wife, David is survived by his two children, David Scott Richards of Mercer, Pa; Clarissa Levine of New Castle; his twin brother, Donald Richards, his sisters, Peggy Blanchet, Patricia Sutula and four grandchildren.
