Sara R. Joseph, 90, of New Castle passed away the evening of April 23, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital of St. Elizabeth’s in Youngstown, OH. Born on February 25, 1924 in Homestead, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Phillips Saad. Surviving Sara at home is her beloved husband of 69 years, Michael M. Joseph, whom she married on October 22, 1944. Sara was the co-owner and operator of Joseph’s Beverage Distributor in Grove City, PA for 29 years. A devout member of St. John the Baptist Maronite Catholic Church with a deep faith, she sang in the choir and belonged to the Ladies Altar and Rosary Society. Also, Sara enjoyed being a member of her Ladies Golf League and Card Club, and she will always be remembered as an excellent cook and baker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed doing everything for her family. In addition to her husband, Sara is survived by her children, Gary M. Joseph and wife Elaine, Marilyn A. Patrick and husband Ronald, Karen A. Ionta and husband Dom, all of New Castle, and Michael D. Joseph of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Michael Saad and wife Nancy of New Castle; sisters, Helen Joseph and Dorothy Fiacco and husband Vince, all of New Castle; grandchildren, Alisa Heath and husband Rob, Kristi Perrotta and husband Louis, Lauri Wozniak and husband Brian, Michael G. Joseph and wife Jaime, Nicole Memo and husband Michael, Dr. Ronald Patrick and wife Kristin, Andrea Shelton and husband Bryan, Diana Kulbacki and husband Joseph, Amy Ault and husband Tyler, Erika Patrick, Michelle DiMuccio and husband Joseph, Jodi Giordano and husband Sam, and Richard Humphrey; and twenty-six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Lucy Budway and Mary George, and brother, Joseph Saad. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 10:15am at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home Saturday at 10:15am to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Maronite Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Fr. Claude Franklin. Entombment will take place at Parkside Mausoleum.
